After decades of grifting, gaslighting, swindling, fraud and swaths of other criminal activities – long before all the ‘alleged’ crimes committed after becoming a minority-elect president* – Teflon Don’s armor is beginning to shatter

It only took over two years since he left office for our minority-elect, twice-impeached one term former president* Donald J. Trump to be held accountable for a small fraction of his ‘alleged’ crimes, but it finally happened. While there are a multitude of other potential indictments coming, Trump is currently facing 34 potential felony charges, and he’s not handling it well.

Some outlets are dubiously referring to Trump’s being charged as a former president* as ‘unchartered waters,’ but is it? Too many media outlets spent the 4 years of Trump’s untenable presidency normalizing the lies and crimes perpetrated by Trump and his equally corrupt GOP Congress critters instead of telling it like it is and holding them accountable for their actions. But the real question with Trump isn’t how he got indicted, it’s why didn’t this happen long ago?

Multiple claims of his being held responsible for his actions being ‘uncharted waters’ imply this is something new, despite the fact that in reality, Trump should have been held accountable long before his ‘unchartered waters’ ship sailed. For example, it was ‘uncharted waters’ when Trump and his terrorists plotted to illegally overthrow the election after losing it bigly. Lying about actively soliciting help from Russia to win the presidency, terrorizing immigrants while separating families and putting their children in cages was ‘unchartered waters.’

Terrorizing journalists and encouraging the moronic miscreants that comprise his cult to beat them up, banning Muslims from entering the country, extorting the leader of a foreign country to find non-existent corruption on his opponent, constantly grifting at U.S. taxpayer expense, lying about a pandemic – and virtually everything in general – which cost more than a million lives is ‘unchartered waters.’ Embracing white supremacy and encouraging his terrorists to defend him while denying he did anything illegal is ‘unchartered waters.’

STOCHASTIC TERRORISM FROM TRUMP’S TERRORISTS

Despite the stochastic terrorism from Trump’s terrorists and his corrupt GOP Congress critters, and the speculative ‘unchartered waters’ narrative, history was made by Trump’s being indicted, and rest assured, there are many more potential indictments for Trump coming courtesy of his despotic delusions of grandeur. Trump’s entire business career has been built on massive amounts of fraud and other crimes that should have landed him in prison decades ago. Trump has mastered the art of delaying court cases and delaying accountability for his actions, but those times are coming to an end.

Trump and his equally treasonous enablers in the GOP keep bloviating about Trump being indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, but they constantly ignore the fact that he was indicted by a grand jury of his peers – 23 people – not the media, not a judge, not Bragg. Constantly gaslighting the country about Trump’s indictment is nothing more than a diversionary tactic designed to try and politicize the indictment instead of telling the truth and letting justice take its course the way it’s meant to.

No former president has ever been indicted – despite the fact that, at minimum, a couple of them (think Nixon and GW Bush) should have been – and no other former president has done what Donald J. Trump did. Trump repeatedly defied laws and the U.S. Constitution with total impunity, aided and abetted by the same right-wing GOP miscreants that are desperately trying to save his ass now. Trump always deflects, gaslights, projects, tries to invert reality and routinely lies his ass off while trying to spin facts to make himself the victim to try and avoid accountability.

THE TIME FOR TRUMP’S ACCOUNTABILITY IS LONG OVERDUE

Ginning up fear also plays a big role in Trump and his ilk’s desperate attempts to weasel out of responsibility for the egregious crimes they have committed. Gaslighting the MAGAts that are stupid enough to support Trump’s solipsistic, Treasonous ass may play well with them, but the much larger vast majority of this country has had more than enough of it and feel that it’s time for Trump to pay for what he has done. Holding Trump accountable for his actions isn’t a witch hunt or persecution. It’s allowing the law to do what it’s designed to do, and in Trump’s case, it’s well-deserved and long overdue.

Sadly, for the right-wing wastes of human flesh that continue aiding and abetting Trump, their involvement in his crimes will come out too, and that scares the hell out of them as it should. Focusing solely on delusional policies to cater to a small minority of idiots that can’t think for themselves and are incapable of feeling empathy for anyone who isn’t Caucasian, straight and male is quite revealing, and makes them look even more corrupt and foolish, especially since the first case Trump was indicted on was actually the weakest of what could end up being at least 3 more – stealing classified documents, committing Treason and insurrection, and illegally trying to overturn an election he lost bigly – that are coming down the pipe in the near future.

Currently there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that Trump routinely shredded while in office that would prevent him from running for president despite being criminally charged, but several hurdles would make campaigning more difficult. Were he to end up behind bars he could still theoretically win, though ironically, since he lives in Florida, he wouldn’t be able to vote until his sentence was served. Of course, that would end up being a witch hunt and his being persecuted too in his land of delusion. Time will tell how it ends up playing out, but holding Trump and his ilk accountable for their actions is the only way to prevent wannabe dictators from trying to steal Democracy in the future – and his time for accountability has been a long time coming.
