Reported similarities to what appears to be collusion between former Vice President Dick Cheney and the CIA over Cheney’s role in briefing key members of Congress about the Bush administration’s use of controversial interrogation methods (torture) — which comes while Cheney is busily conducting his revisionistic media tour to mend his recent bloviations over the success of said controversial interrogation methods — revealed that Cheney oversaw at least four of those briefings and mounted a secretive and forceful defense throughout 2005 with the intent of maintaining support for torturing ‘suspected terrorists.’
It appears that Cheney still has some strong ties to the CIA. The CIA never made any mention of this on the list of 40 members of Congress who were allegedly briefed about the use of torture. Once again, the CIA has been caught in another lie. Many are still unaware of how deceptive and conniving the CIA has been for the past several decades or their history of committing crimes against U.S. citizens.
Apparently Cheney led the briefings when Congressional oversight committees were threatening to investigate or terminate the enhanced interrogation techniques. Throughout the torture debate, Cheney’s hands-on role in trying to entice Congressional support has never been mentioned. With the revelations of the CIA’s collusion with Cheney comes the realization that an investigation into Cheney’s existing governmental ties is also needed.
According to the Washington Post, Cheney’s briefing sessions with lawmakers appeared calculated to give additional heft to the CIA’s case for maintaining the torture while mounting an impassioned defense of the torture program. Cheney’s attempts to sway Congressional support included sending David S. Addington to Guantanamo Bay with key Republican Senators, including McCain and Graham. Cheney is Once Again Trying to Revise History
Waterboarding was just the tip of the iceberg. Cheney and the Bush administration used the 9/11 attacks as justification for shredding the U.S. Constitution and committing egregious crimes against humanity. Even worse, Cheney used torture to force confessions for the 9/11 commission as a method of trying to cover his involvement in the attacks of 9/11. The Bush administration’s 9/11 fairy tale is rapidly unraveling.
As Cheney’s admissions deepen his role in constructing America’s torture and rape program, he’s been busy trying to revise his legacy. He recently admitted — actually telling the truth for once instead of lying — that there was no connection between 9/11 and Iraq and that torture did not save any lives. Of course, he made that claim using carefully worded language during an interview with Faux News because the whole world knows his claims about CIA documents proving torture worked are nothing but more major lies. If it weren’t for the fact that numerous egregious crimes have been committed in America’s name, Cheney’s behavior would almost be pathetically comical.
But, regardless of how hard he tries to change his past history, the truth will never allow Cheney to succeed. A few weeks ago, a former NBC News investigative producer reported that Cheney’s office suggested waterboarding an Iraqi prisoner who was ‘suspected’ of knowing about a relationship between al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein in April of 2003.
According to Robert Windrem, that little tidbit was confirmed by two U.S. intelligence officers. Windrem also added more fuel to the falsified 9/11 fairy tale by noting that much of the information used by the 9/11 Commission was provided through more than 30 sessions of detainee torture.
Trying to Bury Pictures Depicting Sexual Abuse
Recently it was revealed that pictures depicting sexual abuse and torture of detainees exist. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice were reportedly all present at meetings where sexual humiliation was discussed as policy. The Pentagon denied the existence of the photos, but they exist. Many of them have been viewed in the Muslim world since 2004.
Being raped and sodomized with foreign objects was only part of it. Other incidents include having genitals slashed with razors, having electrodes placed on genitals and detainees being told that the U.S. military would find and rape their mothers.
President Obama was going to release the pictures after losing a lawsuit, but changed his mind. Some say it could endanger our men and women in uniform overseas, which may or may not be true — again, the pictures have been viewed in the Muslim world since 2004 — but releasing the photos would also reveal that the most senior officials of the Bush administration set up and ran a global sex crime trafficking ring with Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and Baghram serving as the holding sites.
Somehow, it’s hard to believe that sexual torture and abuse produced reliable ‘intelligence.’ Contrary to Cheney’s delusional claims, torture did not produce any reliable ‘intelligence’ either. Sexual perversity ordered from senior Bush administration officials was nothing more than gratification of sadistic individuals and extremely bad power trips. A lot more on the Bush administration’s sexual abuse and torture is available in the article from The Huffington Post.
Who’s Obama protecting by not releasing the photos? Those in the upper echelon of the Bush administration. The bodies of those ‘suspected terrorists’ are crime scenes. Releasing the photos would offer even more graphic evidence of the sadistic crimes that were ordered by those in the upper echelon of the Bush administration. They won’t release the prisoners because once they had their day in court, many current and former members of the government, including some who currently work for Obama, would be incriminated.
Criminal Enterprise Masquerading as Government
As noted by Fire Dog Lake, the CIA’s hiding Cheney’s role in those briefings needs closer scrutiny — especially if the CIA is still collaborating with Cheney to hide the abuse he created — and torture was definitely Cheney’s baby. If you look at the CIA’s history of lies and deceptions, including those used illegally against Americans, it would come as no surprise that the CIA colluded with Cheney to hide facts. Al Qaeda was created by the CIA. Abu Zubaydah, the alleged ‘Al Qaeda’ mastermind, is a CIA veteran. The deception is never-ending.
It’s also worth noting — yet again — the convenient timing of another ‘Osama bin Laden’ audio tape magically appearing. It must be getting close to impossible to produce more video tapes, especially since Osama bin Laden reportedly died in 2001. Notice how bin Laden hates President Obama but makes no mention of Cheney or his treasonous crimes against a multitude of Muslims on the audio tape….With more evidence of the egregious torture, including rape coming to light, you can expect the CIA and other current and former members of the federal government to pull more tricks and propaganda out of thin air as they try to save their behinds.
In a few — albeit very few — ways, putting Bush and his regime in charge of destroying this country actually helped more of the public realize just how bad the intentional deception used by our federal government has become over the past few decades. Bush, Cheney and a multitude of Bush administration officials — as well as several still active in the Obama administration — are neocons, and many of them have dual Israeli-American citizenship. Notice that’s dual Israeli-American citizenship, not dual American-Israeli citizenship, meaning their allegiance is with Israel, not America.
As noted by Talking Points Memo, it’s easy to see bushco as a huge criminal enterprise masquerading as government: starting illegal wars with the intention of making sure they never end, outsourcing everything including torture and spying on U.S. citizens, aiding in and benefitting from the fraud on Wall Street that has resulted in the looting of the treasury, enriching and rewarding cronies, the perversion of justice, illegally purveying propaganda as “news” and much more all worked together to hoodwink and fleece the masses.
Some find it hard to believe that the U.S. government would intentionally kill its own citizens and act surprised to find out about the deception utilized by our government, but many of us have been trying to wake people up to the facts for years. If you take a real close look at the U.S. between 2000 and 2008, beginning with the U.S. Supreme Court appointing Bush to the presidency and put everything together, it’s very easy to see how we ended up where we are today. Doing nothing about it will only make matters much worse than they already are.
Does America want to be a part of covering up these egregious crimes committed by corrupt government politics in their name? As noted by the Huffington Post, as history shows, once the state can lock people up without a fair trial, and torture and rape them, sooner or later the state will be able to do the same thing to your children, or to you and me. It’s time for an investigation and accountability, and it’s time to get to the truth.
